This report explores the demographic and employment characteristics of hired agricultural workers in the United States, a population that is majority Hispanic, male, and Spanish-speaking. The report draws on interviews with 5,342 crop farmworkers through the US Department of Labor’s National Agricultural Workers Survey (NAWS) fielded between October 2014 and September 2016. The findings provide policymakers, community organizations, and researchers with insights into agricultural workers’ realities, challenges, and interactions with social services.
